Terms of Use

Last updated: October 16, 2026

Pre-launch draft, not yet in force. Text in [brackets] is completed, and the terms are legally reviewed, before Frank is available on the App Store.

Who we are

Frank (a working name) is provided by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [POSTAL ADDRESS] (“we”). Contact: support@replace-me.invalid.

What Frank is

Frank helps you manage your own phone use: you pick your problem apps and a daily limit, and the app comments on your habits in a tone you choose. It is a personal productivity tool with a sense of humour, not medical, psychological or professional advice. If your phone use is affecting your health, please talk to a professional.

Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old to use Frank. Harsh mode is limited to adults: by turning it on you confirm that you are 18 or older.

Harsh mode

Harsh mode is opt-in. Its lines mock your habits, not you, and can include profanity only if you switch that on separately for the app and for notifications. You can turn it off at any time, or use mercy mode for 24 hours of a softer tone.

Screen Time and accuracy

Automatic tracking is optional, needs iOS 18 or later and your permission through Apple’s Screen Time sheet, and can be revoked in iOS Settings at any time. Without it you log your day with a check-in. Apple tells the app when you pass limits rather than your exact minutes, and check-ins depend on what you enter, so the numbers in the app are estimates. Don’t rely on them for anything important.

Paid features

You can use Frank for free. If we offer optional paid features, the price, billing period and what is included are shown in the app and on the App Store before you buy. Purchases are billed to your Apple Account. Auto-renewing subscriptions renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; you can manage or cancel them in your App Store account settings. A free trial, if offered, turns into a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends. Refunds are handled by Apple. Screen Time tracking, Screen Time alerts and, if offered, app blocking are never sold as paid features.

Apple’s terms

If you downloaded Frank from the App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Apple is not responsible for the app or its support.

Your account

You need an account (Sign in with Apple or Google) to use the app. Keep access to your Apple Account or Google Account secure. You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Account. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service, for example by attacking it or trying to access other people’s data.

Our content

The app, its roast lines and its design belong to us. You may share roasts the app shows you for personal, non-commercial use. Don’t copy, resell or reverse engineer the app except where the law allows it.

Liability

Frank is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your mandatory rights as a consumer.

Changes

We may update these terms. We update the date above, and for material changes we tell you in the app before they apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [COUNTRY]. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
